![]() ![]() I'll confess, at one point I had this program working. If by some f*cking miracle you manage to get the software working, you MUST set a keyboard/mouse/some other bind for every button. Seems their devs decided "if the version string is different than what's reported, it must be newer" was a good approach to an update system and them completely forgot to keep their own info up-to-date. And then you'll want to shout some choice words at the developer(s) when you discover that it told you this because the app's version (1.0.0.25 at the time I've posted this) is NEWER than what the marketplace seems to think is the latest version (1.0.0.24). If you wanted to "Check for Updates" in this app, you might find yourself pleased to find that it tells you there's an update. The "Check for Updates" button is borked. I have friends that have removed me on the basis that they keep getting spammed with this message (since, you know, the program is unstable and keeps crashing). Regardless of what you set, it still shows "In-App" / "Controller Companion" every time you use it. Toggling "In-App Message" (which supposedly should enable or disable your Steam "playing" message from reading "Controller Companion") does not work. Many settings don't do what they say/describe. It asks you if you'd "kindly" report it to the developers, but clicking yes/ok just causes the program to *natively* crash ("has encountered a problem and needs to close"). I've encountered crashes with the configuration app while doing anything from inputting a key, to deleting a profile, to just clicking "OK" to close it. This is the most poorly-coded app Steam has ever had on its store. Original thread title revised as well, since it's no longer warranted. Leaving the initial post here intact for reference. Many things resolved, others revised, no longer outraged. Please see my post #7 later in this thread.
